I worked on this project with a local nautical architect who was involved with some investors who wanted to build a smaller day cruise ship from the ground up. I don't believe it was ever built but it was a sleek design anyway.
This illustration was painted with opaque watercolors.
Recreational boating is very popular in Florida because of access to numerous lakes, the Intracoastal Waterway, as well as the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. You will find every type of watercraft from jet skis, bass fishing boats, small and large cruisers, yachts and sail boats.
This was one of my first attempts at oil painting in 1977. I don't work with oils any more because of the slow drying time.
